#63- Dragonfly by Julia Golding
(390 pgs) Another title on the Lone Star list for 2011-2012 and I enjoyed it, in spite of myself. It is a Fantasy book and that is not usually my genre. However, I enjoyed reading about Taoshira, the Fourth Crown Princess of the Blue Crescent Islands and her adventures as she gets used to her title. One I can suggest to others without hesitation.

#59-Alex VanHelsing:Vampire Rising by Jason Henderson
(256 pgs) Another Lone Star title and yes, about vampires. Vampire fans will enjoy it - no romance really, just action. Not my favorite but sure a lot of students will like it.

#58 Jumping off Swings by Jo Knowles
(240 pgs) From the MISD digital library...and wow. At first I thought NO - horrible book. The language is awful and yet typical of high school students, or at least some. But, I found I couldn't put it down either. I wanted to know what happened with Ellie and Josh and how Caleb and Corrine handled everything too. I guess a pretty realistic look at what happens when kids in high school have sex and pregnancy results. Might want my daughter to read it after all, bad language not withstanding.
